With our minimum package including the stylish booth design and set up for 3m x 3m with a LED screen, it shall start from 2 million JPY for 3 days, with one local staff (at least one English speaker) standing.
This excludes a 3m x 3m booth space fee (which varies from 500,000JPY - 1million JPY, or more for bigger space at a popular exhibition) depending on the location and the popularity.
On this, you can calculate the cost of shipments of samples, data to air on the LED screen, your own employees travel cost etc.
At the end, you think of somewhere around 3 million JPY for the cost to have a great booth at exhibition in major cities i.e. Tokyo and Osaka. If you go rural area, the space fee shall be cheaper but the question is if it is worth?
We were at several rural area exhibitions, the number of visitor is low and quality of the visitor also low to be honest.
Like most of exhibitions, the exhibition organizer offers a super basic booth for around 1million JPY but if you have been to any expo in many countries, you see instantly the companies with such basic booths are not really good, looking obviously a cheap brand. We do not know why but very often the staff just looking at their smartphones. Everything seems "underpaid".
