Japan Voice Actor News: Akiko Yajima quit Crayon Shinchan's Voice.

She voiced the Shinchan for 26 years and 3 month since 1992. TV Asashi announced that she will quit the job.

Her first appearance was on 13 April, 1992. She is quoted as saying "she could not keep the voice of Shin-chan well". It appears that she strains herself a lot to make the voice of Shin-chan.

Her last act is on its TV program on 29 June 2018.

Who will voice the boy from July, 2018 is announced on 14 June, 2018.

Akiko was born in Kashiwazaki city, Nigata on 4 May 1967. She moved to Kawasaki, Kanagawa.

Her father did not like her plan to be an actor so she first joined a sales staff of a Japanese sweet shop. We could understand her dad because acting is normally quite unstable and risky esp. to the view of those from the old time.

But she did not give up her dream. She kept studying about acting and got her dream come true!

She voiced the Eriko Tamura in Idol legend Eriko and also Lily Thevalley in Gundam W.

Her nickname is "Akko/あっこ". We hope she gets well soon and has a wonderful career in the future.

The creator of Crayon Shinchan "Yoshito Usui" passed away in 2009.
