How to get Yokote Kamakura Festival, Akita and Where to Stay

 

One place for great photo is Yokote Kamakura festival, Akita prefecture.

 

Yokote Kamakura( snow hut) festival takes place in the evening (18:00-21:00) on 15th and 16th February(14-16 Feb, 2015) every year in Yokote city, Akita prefecture.

 

Akita gets so much snow. In this festival, the local people set up snow huts in which kids welcome you with sweet sake ( non-alcohol called “Amazake” ) and rice cake(called “Mochi”).

 

On the same day there are numerous tiny snow huts made with candles inside in many places in the city. You will see many mini snow huts lit with candles in the night. Just an amazing sight.
